Hello,
I am Ms. Rebecca and the owner of Shine Dance Factory. I have been dancing since I was 4 years old. My Mom put me into dance because I was the kid that was always falling and tripping over everything! Little did she know it would turn into a lifelong passion! I grew up dancing at The Dance Factory, in Austell Georgia. They are famous for their tap dancing and still win national competitions. I competed with them when I was younger and even as an adult. I learned many styles of dance there. Once I hit college, I fell deeper in love with ballet. I began to really focus on ballet, taking it at my college and studying at the Atlanta Ballet and the Georgia Ballet. Since then I have studied just about every type of dance there is. It was around then I began teaching dance. I have taught from the littlest of dancers to the most seasoned of dancers and continued to learn from the best. I have taught competition and recreation dancers. In addition to teaching dance I do have a day job, I am an Occupational Therapist for Canon City Schools. Being an OT is also something I truly adore. I earned my Doctorate at Rocky Mountain University Of Health Professions in Utah. I have the best husband in the world. We were blessed to adopt our daughter when she was 10 days old. I can’t believe she is 8 already! When we were told about her, we were told her road may be long being diagnosed with fetal alcohol syndrome. So, as soon as her little legs could wobble she was in dance. She is our shining light! I am really excited to open my own studio so that I may help bring dance to as many children as possible and share my love of dance with them!
